Smuggler Cove Hike

Smuggler Cove Hike

NOTE: Meeting/assembly place at Capilano University at 9:45am

A light lunch and ride will be provided. Please register for numbers.

Smuggler Cove Marine Provincial Park features a scenic hiking trail with forest, marsh, and ocean views. The 2-kilometer (4 km round-trip) Smuggler Cove trail can be hiked in about 40 minutes. It includes both gravel paths and boardwalks, but also has some challenging sections with roots, rocks, and stairs.

Get ready for an adventurous hike through the old-growth forest and along the coastline!

Hiking tips:

Wear suitable footwear.

Stay hydrated with water.

Use sunscreen and insect repellent; wear a hat.

Be cautious of pollen if you have allergies.

The goal of the Sunshine Coast Bear Alliance is to end human-bear conflict on the Sunshine Coast so that residents, bears and other wildlife can harmoniously co-exist in our community. 

Join us to learn how you can coexist with our bears by better managing your garbage and attractants, understanding bear behavior, and knowing what to do if you encounter a bear. 

Properly managing bear attractants will reduce conflict and any unnecessary termination of our resident bears.

MCK-Traditional Korean Bibimbap serve with Soybean Soup

Bibimbap (비빔밥) is a Korean rice dish with assorted vegetables and meat. The word bibimbap literally means "mixed rice" in Korean, and the mixing usually happens at the table by the diner. The dish is served with a gochujang (고추장) sauce.
You can make endless variations to this dish depending on your taste and dietary requirements (e.g. microgreens bibimbap) and even adapt it to the dish or bowl it is served in.

 Spring has sprung! As nature awakens from its wintry slumber, so does our⁤ excitement bloom, admonishing us ‌to ‍explore the‍ essence of this incredible transformation of nature! 

Outdoor activities, like simply walking by the sea, provides a break from the confines of indoor life, allowing us to embrace the world with open hearts. Let's go for a stroll and savour the gentle warmth of the sun, ⁣and immerse in the soothing sound of the ocean.

 Tips for our Spring Nature Walk:

  • Wear appropriate footwear. Choose comfortable shoes suitable for walking.
