Discover the joy of Temakizushi (Japanese hand-rolled sushi) at our next community kitchen gathering!
Unlike traditional sushi that requires special mats and precise cutting, Temakizushi is a casual, hands-on style of sushi meant to be assembled right at the dining table. It is the ultimate social food! Each person gets to create their own personalized sushi cones using crisp sheets of nori (seaweed), seasoned sushi rice, and a colorful spread of fresh ingredients.
To accompany our sushi, we will also prepare Horenso no Gomaae. This classic Japanese spinach salad is blanched and dressed in a savoury, nutty sesame sauce, a healthy veggie side dish that goes well with everything.
Yuko is teaching us how to make temakizushi and spinach gomaae in this activity! Come hang out and enjoy some great food and good company.
Donations are completely optional, but a $5 donation deeply supports this activity.
