Building Resilient Workers

Starting February 8th, 2022

By completing this FREE 7-week online program, you can gain a certificate that can be useful for both your work and resume.

The Building Resilient Workers Program has been developed to support people who are currently working or considering going to work in their communities. It is designed to support people who are new to working in Canada and may not be fully familiar with the working environments they find themselves in.

Each session in the program will give you new language and different ideas to help you learn about what you can expect from your employment situation and how to make it the most positive experience possible.

Each session we’ll be providing

● an overview of key ideas and definitions of key words

● activities to help you share ideas

● multimedia resources to help you learn more about the topic

Along the way, we’ll be reading, writing, talking, exchanging thoughts and information, thinking and working with others. As you go through the program, you are invited to reflect and act on what you have learned. We hope to create a safe and curious environment where you can ask and answer questions and explore your community and how you can work to change it.

The program will cover:

Rights and Responsibilities

Hazards in the Workplace

Workplace First Aid

Ergonomics

Workplace Violence

This program is being offered to people across the Sea to Sky and Sunshine Coast region, so we hope it will also be fun to meet and work with others from communities across the area.

The program runs over seven weeks from 6-8:30 pm each Thursday starting February 8. Once we receive your intake form back, we'll send out a pre-program information package.
