Multicultural Kitchen: Cooking Traditional Filipino Pork Adobo-FREE

This program aims to integrate newcomers and locals within the Coast community by sharing the simple pleasures of preparing traditional recipes, sharing family food secrets, and coming together to eat.

We welcome everyone. We want to bring people together, to enjoy food and have fun.

The word Adobo was derived from the Spanish word “adobar." It means to marinate. This can be in the form of a liquid marinade or a rub using a combination of powdered ingredients.

Vilma will be leading the cooking of Filipino Adobo by marinating the pork in soy sauce and crushed garlic. By preference, vinegar or lemon juice can also be added as a marinade ingredient.

Special thanks to Bob Hoy from the Gibsons IGA for his generous support in making this event possible.
